    • Teen Employment and Idleness

      Teen Idleness (16 to 19 Years)

      Teens 16 to 19 years who are not in school and not in the labor force. This excludes teens who serve in the armed forces. Percents refer to the percent of all teenagers 16 to 19 years.

      Youth Unemployment (20 to 24 Years)

      Youth 20 to 24 years who are without a job and were actively seeking employment within the last four weeks.

      Disconnected Youth (16 to 24 Years)

      Teens and youth 16 to 24 years who are not in school and not working. Percents refer to the percent of all teenagers and youth 16 to 24 years.

      Adolescents in Adult Jails

      The total number of adolescent admissions and average daily adolescent population in adult city jails. Adolescents are 16 through 18 years of age.
